Gallery Closure Continued – Northern Ontario Lockdown Extended

To help combat the spread of COVID-19 the Government of Ontario has extended the Provincewide Lockdown affecting Northern Ontario until JAN 23, 2021. As a result, the Thunder Bay Art Gallery must remain CLOSED during this period.

Unfortunately this means that we are unable to share the exhibition Maud Lewis with you one last time. You might recall that we had hoped to be open on January 10 and provide one last chance for you to see the show. We’re disappointed that we can’t do this.

The show must be dismantled and shipped to Kenora where it will be shown at the Douglas Family Art Centre. You can still check out the film Maudie.

Our staff will be working diligently towards our reopening and presenting TWO exciting new exhibitions: Piiwewetam and Dakobinaawaswaan.
