Painting with Palette Knives

Learn how to create a small landscape painting using acrylic paints and palette knives. Artist Rosemary Dzus will teach you several techniques using palette knives to create beautiful and dynamic landscapes. Great for beginners and experienced painters wanting to learn new ways of using palette knives and acrylic paints and mediums to create texture and movement.

This special workshop is co-hosted by the Manitoba Arts Network and will be happening in conjunction with Rosemary’s exhibition, A Year on the Water, at the Thunder Bay Art Gallery. Rosemary will be teaching the class through Zoom on a large screen set up in the classroom space at the Thunder Bay Art Gallery. An additional instructor will be assisting participants in person throughout the workshop.

All materials are included in this class. Please wear a smock or old shirt to protect your clothing.

Rosemary Dzus is a mixed-media artist working in painting, drawing and collage. Rosemary holds a BFA from the University of Manitoba, and a BSc in Environmental Studies from the University of Winnipeg. This workshop, created in partnership with the Manitoba Arts Network is inspired by the painting techniques Rosemary used in the exhibition, A Year on the Water which will be on display at the Thunder Bay Art Gallery through the month of December. The exhibition features 365 small landscape paintings of the harbor in Leamington, ON captured over the course of one year.
