Medicine Lines of Womanhood

Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) Commemorative Project

The Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA) Medicine Lines of Womanhood project is a commemorative art exhibit and video series that honour the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) created with family members and loved ones.
  • The project encourages public education and awareness by acknowledging the loss and grief that families continue to endure.
  • The project is intended to provide an opportunity for family and loved ones of Missing and Murdered loved ones to honour and share the story of their loved one through an art piece that was created using Indigenous arts-based healing approaches.
  • The exhibits will be hosted in four different cities throughout Ontario: Thunder Bay, Ottawa, Kenora, and Sioux Lookout. Thunder Bay will be the first launch.
