Collections Remix pairs work by two artists to create new understandings of these artists and our collection. Robert Markle (1936 – 1990) and Clifford Maracle (1944-1996) were key figures in the Canadian art scene in the 60s and 70s. Two artists from the Mohawk Nation, themes of identity, agency, the figure and the gaze, and colour simultaneously sync up and create dissonance in the space. Experience the Permanent Collection in critical new juxtapositions of portraiture, whirligigs, the female nude, and abstraction.
