Silent Sculpt Retreat

Silent Sculpt Retreat

A Meditational Exploration with Katie Lemieux

BRAND NEW to the Thunder Bay Art Gallery.

Inspired by her first solo exhibition, Ending Up, join Katie Lemieux for this one-of-a-kind clay workshop!

This 2-hour retreat will be non-verbal, placing emphasis on sound and sight as communal navigation. This workshop will provide a space that invokes silence to encourage alternate communication, the act of existing without words, while participants reflect on the creation of small items out of earth. Participants will be able to create one of three meditative pieces out of clay. Choices will be between a Worry Bird, Stemming Stone or Think Links. These small items work in tandem with the concept of a meditational retreat, as the Bird, Stone and Links provide a tactile release of tension and a source of stemming or informational processing.

More detailed information about all three projects available upon registration.

All materials provided.
