For young artists who are thinking about applying for a post-secondary visual arts program. Throughout this class, students will be given the opportunity to work with a local visual artist that will help to inspire and guide them towards developing their artistic portfolio. With the Lakehead University Visual Arts Program portfolio requirements as a guide, students will have the chance to make new artwork to include in their portfolio and to refine their already completed works. The instructor will assist students in clearly presenting their skills, creativity and love for visual arts through their collection of artworks, process work and artist statements. A mandatory sketchbook practice will begin each class, with the final class ending in a portfolio critique.
