Clay Jackalopes with Katie Lemieux
Clay Jackalopes with Katie Lemieux
In this workshop participants will be working with local artist, Katie Lemieux, to make their own Jackalope (Antelope Jack Rabbit) out of clay. Participants will work step-by-step with Katie, choosing between a seated or laying down position for their figures, they will learn how to see a figure in its basic shapes and will have a greater understanding of anatomy. Participants will learn proper attachment methods and how to sculpt a solid form in its entirety. At the end of the workshop, Katie will hollow and reassemble the works for each participant and will fire them in her kiln.
Once out of the kiln, your final product will be hard enough to exist as is, or you can add glaze or paint to it (on your own). You will be notified via email when your piece is ready to be picked up from the gallery.
