Resilient Hearts, Resilient Voices
On view: May 6 >> May 28
“Resilient Hearts, Resilient Voices is a Storytelling Exhibit on Sexual Violence, Intimate Partner Violence, MMIW, and Healing. This exhibit is part of Sexual Violence Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness, support survivors, and take action to end violence against Indigenous women, girls, and 2Spirit people. Violence against Indigenous women is a national crisis. They experience sexual violence and intimate partner violence at rates three times higher than non-Indigenous women. Yet, their stories are often unheard, their pain dismissed, and their resilience unrecognized.
This exhibit amplifies the lived experiences of Indigenous survivors through poetry, artwork, and personal narratives. Each piece in this collection reflects the profound pain, unbreakable strength, and healing journeys of those who have endured violence and are reclaiming their voices. This exhibit is more than raising awareness—it is about honoring survival, healing through expression, and creating space for change. It is a call to action for communities to stand together, listen, and break the silence surrounding violence.”
