Ekphrastic Poetry Workshop
March 5, 2026 – Thunder Bay Public Library
Poetry is not only about words on a page, sometimes it becomes wonderfully visual! Join us and explore ekphrastic poetry, a form of writing that responds to a scene or work of art through description, reflection, or imaginative expansion.
We will look at a range of examples, draw inspiration from images of art, and take time to write in a supportive and creative setting. Add collage elements into your piece and share your work with the group near the end of the session.
Kitchen Lithography
April 2, 2026 – Thunder Bay Art Gallery
Transform everyday kitchen materials into a unique print in just a few hours! Great art does not always mean specialized tools. Many artists know that creativity and technique can bring even the simplest materials to life. In this workshop, you will be guided step-by-step through preparing a surface, arranging your composition, and creating a print of your own design to take home.
Natural Ink Abstracts
May 7, 2026 – Thunder Bay Art Gallery
With spring comes florals, fruits, fungi, and a world of natural colourants! In this workshop, we will explore what goes into making plants and organic materials into natural inks. Together, we will prepare a small batches of colourant to create abstract artworks that will shift and change over time.
There will be plenty of time to chat, browse books for inspiration, and experiment with paper to create one-of-a-kind paintings, cards, and bookmarks.
