Talking Collection: Inside A Strong Law Bids Us Dance

Talking Collection is a new and accessible tour through gallery exhibitions. With a casual cinq à sept vibe, this social event is hosted by a selection of Gallery staff who share insights on exhibitions, artworks, projects, and our permanent collection.
A Strong Law Bids Us Dance

A Strong Law Bids Us Dance is a large-scale exhibition that resonates with our 50th anniversary. A selection of charged and dynamic paintings, prints, and sculptures showcases more than 40 artists from the collection, including master Daphne Odjig (b. 1919 – d. 2016) and Ahmoo Angeconeb (b. 1955 – d. 2017), alongside music-making and regalia accessories by several artists not yet identified. Everyone is part of the circle.
Natalie King: Built, Not Inherited

Built, Not Inherited is the debut solo exhibition in Thunder Bay by artist Natalie King, a queer interdisciplinary Anishinaabe (Algonquin) artist, facilitator, and member of Timiskaming First Nation. Across painting and installation, King’s works function as places of passage rather than fixed objects.

Quinn Hopkins: Hyper Woodland

Hyper Woodland is a term coined by artist Quinn Hopkins for his work. Expanding the genres of Woodland Style, his Anishinaabe practice blends ancestral knowledge with augmented reality (AR) and interactive projection.
