Walking With Our Sisters is a Commemorative Art Installation for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women of Canada and the United States.

Schedule of Events

September 7 – Community Conversation # 3 – 1 to 4 pm – Fort William First Nations Arena
Join the conversation and get involved in meaningful ways. This is an opportunity to listen, learn, and share with one another.

September 12 – Teach-In: Unpacking Settler Colonialism – 7 – 10 pm – Lakehead University UC1017
Members of the Biskaabyiiyang Collective – Adam Barker, Jane-Rae Yerxa, Damian Lee along with Zubairu Wai & Dawn Blessing.

September 19 – Opening Day Ceremony – noon – Thunder Bay Art Gallery.

September 19 – Conversation with Walking With Our Sisters – 7 to 9:430 pm – Shuniah Lecture Theatre, Confederation College.
A special dialogue with members of the WWOS National Collective with Tanya Kappo, Erin Konsmo, Lisa Periard & Christie Belcourt.

September 20 – Film Screening and Community Discussion – 7 to 9 pm – Finlandia Club. From Walk-A-Mile: Targets and Heroes & The Way Forward.

September 28 – Community Bead and Read – 1 to 4 pm – Thunder Bay Art Gallery.

October 2 – Sharing Circle – 6 to 7:30 pm – Thunder Bay Art Gallery. Ron Kanutski will be facilitating a sharing circle. Event open to the community.

October 3 – Teach-in: Art and Decolonization – 7 to 10 pm – Lakehead University UC1017. Hosted by the Biskaabyiiyang Collective with Celeste Pedri-Spade.

October 11 – Coffee House and Silent Auction – 7 to 10 pm – Finlandia Centre – $5 admission.

October 24 – Teach-In: Presencing – 7 to 10 pm – Lakehead University UC1017. Hosted by the Biskaabyiiyang Collective..
