Contract 2 :  June 18 –  August 31, 2018.
Wage: $14.00 / hour

The successful applicant(s) for this position will gain exceptional teaching experience for their resume and enjoy a summer of creative art projects with youth while working in an inspiring environment.  Using the outdoor environment that surrounds our building, these camps also provide outdoor art experiences for all children attending.  The art camps with quality art experiences are made possible with two art instructors available for safe supervision, smooth transitions, and individual attention for varied skill levels. The applicant should have a good working knowledge of artistic techniques appropriate for children and youth and some background in either Education or Visual Arts. They will demonstrate leadership skills, the desire to positively impact the lives of young people, and an appreciation and enthusiasm for visual arts. It is beneficial if candidates have experience working with young people, volunteer teaching or instructional experience, and an appreciation of and enjoyment for being in the out of doors.

Spring Art Classes Instructor
Samantha Bachynski graduated with an Honors Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor in Education last April from Lakehead University. Ever since then, she has been eager to teach.“I’ve had a passion for drawing and painting since I was little, and I’m always excited when I can share my knowledge with kids. I look forward to teaching the classes this spring and having a lot of fun doing art projects with the children”

Spring Art Class     Ages 5 to 6
Saturdays, April 7 to May 12, 1 – 2:30 pm
An introductory art class with new projects for fun and the development of new skills. Draw, paint and complete a new project each week.

Spring Art Class    Ages 7 to 8
Saturdays, April 7 to May 12, 3 – 4:30 pm
An introductory art class motivated by the growing season. Develop drawing and painting skills. Create a fun frame for your favourite drawing.

Comic Artists    Ages 9 to 13
Tuesdays, March 27 – May 8
A drawing class for youth who would like to learn about comic art.

Grandparents and Grandchildren – paint together
