Opening Reception: The Perspective From Here

Join us June 23 at 7:30 pm for the opening reception for our Canada 150 summer exhibition:
The Perspective from Here: 150 Artists From the North running June 22 – September 24.
To mark Canada’s sesquicentennial, the Thunder Bay Art Gallery will gather works by 150 artists, including 50 from our Permanent Collection, for an ambitious contemporary art exhibition. With the goal of celebrating and demonstrating the artistic breadth, diversity, and excellence of artists who have called this area home, or still do, the exhibition will offer a glimpse of the recent artistic past and the present, while asking us to imagine the future. Expect to see two and three dimensional art in all mediums from ceramics and textiles to paintings and photography.
Dovetailed with the exhibition will be a roster of public events and online opportunities to enliven and engage audiences with the thematic threads found throughout the show.
