1000 Words: CAHEP Art to the Streets Youth Exhibition

The artwork in this exhibition celebrates the creativity, voices, and stories of hundreds of local children and youth who live in under-represented neighbourhoods of Thunder Bay.   The creations on display share the important viewpoints of the many young artists who have participated in CAHEP’s Art to the Streets program.  Projects offered are inspired and driven by the ideas and input of individuals in each participating neighbourhood.

Since 2014, Community Arts & Heritage Education Project (CAHEP) has been bringing art to the streets of Thunder Bay in collaboration with participants, dozens of local artists, and local organizations that include Evergreen a United Neighbourhood (Simpson Ogden area), Community Action Group (Blucher/Picton/Windsor area), and Speak Up (Churchill/Vale).

Special thanks to the supporters of this program: Ontario Arts Council (Artists in the Community Grant), United Way of Thunder Bay Youth 4 Community Program,  Intact Community Fund, TBaytel for Good, John Andrews Foundation, and the City of Thunder Bay (Operating), Evergreen a United Neighbourhood, Community Action Group, Speak Up/Churchill Hub, Lakehead Public Schools, YouthMove, and Victoriaville Centre.
