Tickets for the 16th Annual Thunder Bay Art Gallery Christmas House Tour fundraising event are now on sale at the Art Gallery.

Candlelight Tour: Saturday, November 22 – Tour of Homes 6 – 9 pm – Art Gallery Reception – 8 – 10 pm. Tickets on sale at the Gallery: $30 each.

Christmas House Tour: Sunday, November 23 – 10 am – 4 pm. Tickets on sale at the Gallery: $20 each.

Vivian and Tim Alexander
Built on one of the highest points in Port Arthur nearly a century ago, this home seems to magically trigger memories from your youth. It’s large sunroom acts as a gallery space for local potter Tim Alexander, and offers a taste of the traditional beauty and whimsy you will find as you venture further into the home. Willow Springs has created a nostalgic and memorable display inspired by nature, gardening, and the love of green in an otherwise snow-covered season.
Willow Springs Creative Centre is a volunteer-driven organization that promotes growth through creative expression and community development.

This 6000 square foot dwelling was one of the largest private residences ever constructed in Thunder Bay. It now exists as an impressive and award-winning bed and breakfast that has to be seen to be believed. Once inside, visitors will not only be taken aback by its turn-of-the-century splendor, but also by the gorgeous holiday display created by owners Dorothy and Tom Walch. Admire the massive Christmas tree in the turret and enjoy the marvelous formal dining table, dressed for the season. The facade of the manor has been perfectly decorated by Karen Crewe of Seasons in the Country.

The Thunder Bay Art Gallery is hosting an enchanting and enriching display decorated in a Holiday-Season wedding theme designed by April David of Silk & Cedar. Our foyer will have you smiling, discussing, or maybe even inspiring some ideas for your own upcoming nuptials! You will also find complimentary cookies and cider on hand to enhance the holiday spirit you will surely be feeling.

Rekindle the spark of childhood memories as you step into this whimsical home. Lovingly referred to as the Gingerbread House, this truly joyous space has been decorated by the homeowners themselves. Once inside you with feel the home’s youthful vibrancy; and the gorgeous displays will draw you in closer for a better look (see if you can spot Julie’s antique wind-up toys!). Nearly as wonderful and unique as the couple who live here, the house itself has an intriguing and custom layout that will have you taking note of every nook and cranny as you move through it to discover more and more holiday gems.

Perfectly complimenting the Christmas decorations are the numerous paintings and photographs hanging in this home year round, most created by Thunder Bay artists including work from Mike Payette himself.

This wonderful house on High Street has been decorated with festive flair by the team at Bill Martin’s Nurseryland. Past participants of our tour may remember their work from previous years, and their exquisite taste and attention to detail continues to shine through with this new display. As you explore this home, you will be continually impressed by the intricate and gorgeous presentation and the holiday spirit it conveys. See if you can count all of the Christmas trees on this property!
